CSD 500 - Introductory Clinical Practicum in Communication Disorders

Credit 1-6 hours. Prerequisites: CSD 201, 205, 212, 213, 327, 328, 615, 629, and academic good standing grade requirement. This course is designed for graduate students without a bachelor's degree in speech-language pathology who are at beginning level of clinical competency and who are seeking licensure and/or certification as a speech-language pathologist. Students are assigned clients under the direct supervision of a Southeastern staff supervisor. This clinical experience includes administering diagnostic tests, writing lesson plans, planning and implementing therapeutic procedures for clients with communication disorders. Clinical staffings are a required component of the course. Three to six hours of practicum per week. May be repeated for credit.
