Lec. 2 Lab. 2 Credit 3 This course includes field observation of chemical control of weeds and insects and principles of safety and ecological ramifications of chemicals used in modern farming operations. The course also includes alternative pest control systems in modern farming practices and insect and weed identification in the field. Material will also be presented to prepare the student to pass the Iowa Commercial Pesticide Core, Insects and Agriculture Weed tests. Laboratory work will be used to increase the understanding of key concepts.
