Lec. 2 Lab. 0 Credit 2 This course focuses on concepts of pharmacology with special emphasis on the role of the nurse in developing a comprehensive approach to the clinical application of drug therapy through the use of the nursing process. Understanding how drugs work and their relationship to expected outcomes and possible adverse reactions is explored. Recognition of safe dosage ranges, potential interactions, patient factors that affect drug actions, and safe administration techniques are included. The education of clients about their drug therapies is a crucial component. Prerequisite: PNN (Level I) Curriculum. Corequisite: ADN-145.
