This course will examine the developmental, psychosocial, and cognitive aspects of human growth and development throughout the life span. Emphasis is on the developmental self-care needs of individuals during various stages of life, from the newborn through the aged adult, including those in need of mental health care. The nursing process is used as a framework for caring for individuals at any stage in the life span. Developmental nursing care will be the focus of this course.
