Clinical practice will provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate basic Swedish massage techniques and advanced modalities in a supervised setting. Pre- and post-event massage techniques, assessing and evaluating the usefulness of sports massage techniques in athletic injuries, and basic palpation skills will be demonstrated. Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to demonstrate sports massage techniques appropriate for an athletic event, as well as basic palpation skills used in craniosacral therapy.
