DMS 205 (Formerly DS 205) Diagnostic Sonography Laboratory Management Students in this course will gain basic entry-level knowledge and skills required for use in a Diagnostic Sonography Laboratory. This course includes an overall history of the AIUM standards on the safety and usage of ultrasound equipment. Students will review quality assurance and preventative maintenance issues. In addition, the student will learn the nature of data and statistics. Also covered is setting up a Chi square to determine sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value and overall accuracy. Healthcare organizations, societies and accreditation agencies also will be discussed (2 Credits).
