This is an introductory course for the study of racial and ethnic minorities in the USA. This course will provide an overview of the history, immigration patterns and characteristics of the major ethnic minority groups in the USA. The course will also explore the origins and history of prejudice and discrimination experienced by members of these groups. Through readings and discussion, the course will focus on both current and past issues that are important to the understanding of the multi-cultural society in which we all must live and work.
