This course introduces the students to a variety of blood collections methods, proper techniques, and standard precautions. Infection prevention, patient identification, labeling of specimens, quality assurance and proper specimen handling are stressed. Professionalism, ethics, confidentiality, protected health information, and safety are stress. Course is scheduled during first 8-week of semester.
