(Information Literacy Intensive Course). A survey of specific theories of communication and their applications in print, broadcast, film and everyday life. Students will demonstrate their ability to apply theoretical concepts to real world examples in the media and their lives. They will do so in class discussions, on tests, in their journals and in their responses to research assignments. This course encourages students to make connections between ideas in the text and everyday example of communication in the media and their lives.
