How vertebrate and invertebrate animals survive in their environments. Physiological mechanisms underlying regulation of oxygen, food and energy, temperature and water. Focus will be divided between basic mechanisms and animal adaptations in extreme environments, such as high altitude, freezing temperatures and the desert. May not be used to fulfill the minimum requirements for the biology major.
