BIO 380 - Research in Biology

Lab or field research conducted with a biology faculty member. Student collaboration is encouraged. Recommendation of faculty member and approval by department are necessary. Approval may be contingent on the number of projects supervised by a faculty member each semester. The project may be in conjunction with an ongoing research project or with a biology course (see below). Advanced planning is essential and application must be approved prior to the beginning of course selection week. Research opportunities may be available with the following courses: 215, 270, 280, 301, 305, 308, 309, 315, 316, 317, 318. Open to biology and biochemistry and molecular biology majors only. May be repeated as appropriate with approval of department. Continuation of multisemester research to the next semester is contingent on a minimum grade of C in Biology 380. Prerequisite: appropriate advanced courses as required by the department. One-credit hour is equivalent to a minimum of three hours of work per week.
