Practically every religious tradition is represented in the Atlanta area. This course provides students with an excellent opportunity to gain a better understanding of the complex reli- gious landscape in a major metropolitan area. In addition to relevant readings, students will engage in fieldwork where they spend time interviewing and interacting with particular religious communities in the area. Methods for conducting appropriate field research will be presented in class. Comparisons will be made between the religious makeup of Atlanta and other major cities in the U.S.
