This course examines the advent of Christian reconciliation as a species of Judaism, a unique disclosure of the identity of God, and the enactment of a new humanity in Christ. After exploring reconciliation in Pauline communities, the course examines the character of Jewish - Christian relationships and the role of Jews in the formulation of Christian identity and theology in Europe. Other terrains of conflict and reconciliation include religion, ethnicity, race, and gender.
