Description: An introduction to traditional and experimental intaglio printing techniques with an exploration into hand and laser engraved surfaces which may include acrylic, zinc, copper and collagraph plates to produce single and multi-plate works which are printed on diverse surfaces. Students will be introduced to historically significant and contemporary artists working within the medium from diverse communities across the globe. Students will utilize intaglio printing to compose a body of work that aligns with their current studio practice. Prerequisites: Completion of 12 hours. Notes: Lab Fee: $100. Offered in fall.
