Description:
This course will address the various curricular models and developmentally appropriate teaching methods common at the elementary level in physical education. Students will be placed at a school to observe and teach physical education under the supervision of a licensed physical education teacher. The purpose of this course is to further prepare students to plan effective and appropriate movement education- and developmental theme-based physical education programs for elementary school children. The course builds on content from other program courses. Managerial and organizational strategies for physical education classes and similar activity-based settings will be addressed. Field study required.
