3 hrs., 3 credits Prerequisite: PSY 213 or consent of the instructor. Human Growth and Development, PSY 223, provides an overview of the study of maturational and environmental factors in human growth and development. It examines the typical physical, cognitive, and social-emotional changes as they occur in each period of the lifespan: Prenatal, Infancy and Toddlerhood, Early Childhood, Middle Childhood, Adolescence, Early adulthood, Late Adulthood. Students will study major developmental theories in terms of how they explain changes that occur over the lifespan.
