English 107 is the first of a two-course survey of World Literature that includes ENG 108. English 107 exposes students to a broad spectrum of literature in translation that begins in antiquity and concludes at the dawn of the Renaissance. English 107 usually begins with the reading of such works as Gilgamesh, the Leiden Hymns, and/or Genesis, and stops of Dante's Divine Comedy. The series does not have to be taken in sequence. Prerequisite: WR 115 and RD 115 or equivalent placement test scores.
