This course is a scientific study of the principles of botany that provides the foundation for other advanced courses in the biological sciences. Includes an in-depth study of the properties, structure and function, growth and classifications of plants. Concepts of plant reproduction, photosynthesis, ecology and genetics are included. Appropriate for biology majors. Prerequisite: BIOL 1401 with a grade of "C" or better. 3 lecture hours, 3 lab hours. (4 credit hours/special course fee)
