This is a survey course which introduces chemistry as it applies to the real world. It includes basic topics of the scientific method, measurement, states of matter, atomic structure, the periodic table, chemical properties, and chemical reactions. Appropriate for general education. Not appropriate for science majors. Prerequisite: RED 1003 or ACT Reading score of 19 or higher (81 on Compass) AND pre- or co-requisite of MAT 1133 or College Algebra-level ACT/COMPASS scores.
