This course surveys world history from 1500 C.E. to the present. Course themes focus on political, ideological, economic, social, cultural, religious, technological, and environmental developments in Africa, Eurasia, and the Americas. Special focus is given to global factors that allowed the West to exercise significant influence over the development of Africa, Asia, and the Americas.
