This course covers the geographic study of the world cultural areas. Topics include: cultural geography (patterns of language and religion, folk customs, globalization, popular culture), political geography (formation of countries, conflict over land), populations (growth, distributions, migrations, characteristics), global economic activity, and development. Case studies from many parts of the world will be analyzed and key geographic concepts will be reviewed.
