PREREQUISITE: NUR 201, BIO 220, PSY 200, ENG 101. COREQUISITE: PSY 210, and SPH 106, SPH 107 or SPH 116. This course builds upon previous instruction and provides additional opportunities to develop competencies necessary to meet the needs of individuals throughout the lifespan in a safe, legal, and ethical manner using the nursing process. Students manage and provide collaborative care to clients who are experiencing selected alterations in cardiovascular, hematologic, immune, and genitourinary systems in a variety of settings. Additional instruction is provided for psychiatric disorders, and high-risk obstetrics. Teaching/learning concepts, advanced dosage calculations, nutrition, pharmacology, communication, cultural, and community concepts are integrated.
