3 credits Prerequisite: Admission to the EMT-Paramedic Program, approved Anatomy and Physiology course This course introduces the cardiovascular system, cardiovascular electrophysiology, and electrocardiographic monitoring. Content areas include: cardiovascular anatomy and physiology, cardiovascular electrophysiology, electrocardiographic monitoring, rhythm analysis, and prehospital 12-lead electrocardiogram monitoring and interpretation. Upon course completion, students will have demonstrated competency in those respective components of the National Standard Curriculum for the EMT-Paramedic and requirements set forth by the Alabama Department of Public Health.
