3 credits, 3 hours (3-0-0) Prerequisite: CAR 111 or instructor approval This course introduces the student to floor and wall layout and construction. Topics include methods of house framing, components of floor framing, layouts, sub-flooring, connectors and fasteners, and site preparation. Upon course completion, students will be able to identify various types of floor framing systems, select the sizes of floor joists, identify types of house framing, list types of fasteners, and identify property lines, set backs, and demonstrate a working knowledge of terrain and batter boards.
