CAR 113 - Floors, Walls, Site Prep Laboratory

3 credits, 9 hours (0-0-9) Prerequisite: CAR 111 or instructor approval (Co-requisite: CAR 112) The student will engage in applications of floor and wall construction, application of requiredtools, use of the builder transit, level rod, tape measure and grade stakes. Emphasis is placed on cutting sill plates, floor joists, girders, header bridging, sub-flooring, stud wall partitions, door and window headers, wall bracing, leveling instruments, and batter boards. Upon course completion, students should be able to lay out and construct a floor, including the sill, joist bridging and openings, install sub-flooring, construct interior and exterior walls, and lay out property stakes of site plans.
