3 credits, 5 hours (2-0-3) Prerequisite: ELT 102 or instructor approval; Co-requisite ELT 231 This course includes the principles of PLCs including hardware, programming and program design. Emphasis is placed on but not limited to the following: developing working programs, timers, counters, different special functions, and designing programs from existing hardwired systems. Upon completion, students must demonstrate their ability by developing programs, loading programs into real world PLCs and troubleshooting the system if necessary.
