3 credits, 3 hours (3-0-0) This course is designed to introduce the student to industry processes and the role of the technician in the chemical industry. Subjects include basic workplace and general plant skills, plant safety, piping and instrument diagrams, pressures, levels, flows, temperatures, basic hardware such as valves, pumps, heat exchangers and distillation, and basic process control theory. Upon completion, students will have a basic understanding of the role of the process technician in the chemical industry.
