The course provides a basic introduction to information security, using a non-technical approach. Content emphasizes data security concepts, types of threats to data security, data protection strategies, and legal, social and ethical issues affecting data security. In addition to students pursuing a Microcomputer Support degree or certificate, this course is also useful to any student who wishes to expand his/her knowledge of the topic, for career enhancement in business, health care, government or legal positions.
