3 credits, 9 hours (0-0-9) This course is designed to provide the student with skills in welding carbon steel pipe with the shielded metal arc weld (SMAW) process using electrodes in the F3 and F4 groups. Emphasis is placed on welding pipe in the 2G, 5G, and 6G positions. Upon completion, the student should be able to perform shielded metal arc welding on carbon steel pipe with prescribed electrodes in the 2G, 5G, and 6G positions to the applicable code.
