Prerequisites vary among departments. Designed to serve as a capstone for an instructional program for students with unusual interests and abilities and to include special educational projects that cannot normally be obtained in another course or in the classroom. Students work individually with a faculty member to plan and carry out a project that requires self-directed study. Enrollment requires prior permission. 1 lecture hour; 10 lab hours per week.
