Prerequisite: Admission to Medical Assistant Program. This course prepares the student to apply the basic sciences to the clinical area. Theory and practice in the concepts of asepsis, infection control, universal precautions, lab equipment maintenance, and patient preparation are included. Introductory pharmacology concepts are included. Drug dosage calculation is begun. The student will have the opportunity to perform basic medical laboratory tests. 2 lecture hours; 4 lab hours per week.
