Includes the history, construction, and theory of operation of the automotive engine. Complete rebuilding of the engine including a valve job with removal, disassembly, and installation are covered. Failure analysis is discussed along with specific repair procedures as compared to manufacturer's specifications. The cooling and lubrication systems of the automotive engine are covered, as well as preventive maintenance, general shop procedures, safety, and use of shop and flat rate manuals. Fall Semester.
