Credits - 3 Lecture -3 This is a course for parents, families, child and health care providers, and early childhood educators. Basic nutrition for the pregnant and breastfeeding woman, the breastfed and bottlefed infant, and the child will be covered. Gaining understanding of how eating habits develop and the roles of the child and the parent will be emphasized as well as positive techniques for feeding infants, toddlers and preschooler and dealing with various feeding situations. Nutrition challenges for the child with special health care needs will be included. Resources for planning and preparing nutritious meals will be shared and a toolbox of community nutrition services, menus, recipes and nutrition education activities and materials will be developed by each participant.
