Credits - 3 Lecture -3 A general survey of the history of rock and roll music. Beginning with its roots in African- American folk blues, this course will follow sociopolitical events that shaped the development of this popular genre. Also to be discussed will be typical instrumental groups, history of electronic amplification of string and keyboard instruments, development of form and lyric content, as well as marketing trends that shape content and intention of rock.
