1 hour credit. This course provides an introduction to self-employment. Participants are given guidance in assessing personal strengths and weaknesses as they relate to being self-employed. They are also directed to look at the community environment in which they will be doing business in order to assess the viability, feasibility and potential profitability of their business idea. They are encouraged to develop a successoriented attitude and challenged to reconsider their views regarding competition, self-monitoring, learning and excellence.
