3 hours credit. This course will approach the humanities through a study of seven major arts: film, drama, music, literature, painting, sculpture, and architecture. Each of these arts is considered from the perspectives of historical development, the elements used in creating works of art, meaning and form expressed, and criticism or critical evaluation. The course is designed to help students raise answer questions about their individual and societal expressions of values.
