3 hours credit. Prerequisite: MA 135 with a C or better or equivalent. This course will enable the student to collect data by appropriate sampling techniques, summarize data with graphs and tables, calculate descriptive statistics, identify misuses of statistics, assess risk using concepts of probability , estimate and make decisions about means and proportions through the use of confidence intervals and hypothesis testing, and perform linear regression.
