1 hour credit. Prerequisite: Selection by audition. This course involves the study of jazz and commercial styles of music. Instruction may be on an individual and/or group basis. The class is open to instrumentalists (wind, percussion, and keyboard) and vocalists. Emphasis is placed upon acquiring performing versatility and rhythmic comprehension, and upon improving the student's speed of pitch, accuracy, and stylistic perception when reading music.
