3 hours credit. Prerequisite: A score at a pre-determined level in reading, writing, and math on a diagnostic instrument selected by the department and at least one of the following: WE 121 with a C or better or WE 116 with a C or better or instructor approval. This course will enable the student to continue to develop proficiency in the fundamentals of shielded metal arc welding and gas metal arc welding, emphasizing various thicknesses of steel plate as well as the proper selection and preparation of applicable welding joints. Safety practices are emphasized.
