3 hours credit. Prerequisite MC 161 with a C or better, or may be taken simultaneously. This course will enable the student to better understand the content of television programming, from conception to realization, via the tools and technology of the medium. The student will learn to properly utilize the various pieces of equipment, in studio and out, and to apply that knowledge to visually communicate. The added impact of music and sound effects is also studied. There is an emphasis in planning, writing, and organizing. Social and ethical issues will be analyzed. The student will be involved in all aspects of preparing video productions for television.
