3 hours credit. Prerequisite: Minimum ASSET score of 37 in numerical math. Proficiency in basic keyboarding and computer skills in Word. Internet research, spread sheets, and databases is highly recommended. This course will enable the student to understand spatial referencing concepts, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Global Positioning Systems (GPS). The student will be introduced to GIS/GPS receivers and GIS/GPS software systems that are used to collect, correct, map, and analyze geospatial data.
