2 hours credit. Prerequisite: A score at a pre-determined level in reading, writing, and math on a diagnostic instrument selected by the department. This course will enable the student to develop proficiency in the gas shielded metal arc semiautomatic welding process, emphasizing the use of .035 and .045 size solid core wire to weld basic steel joints in all applicable positions. Safety practices are emphasized.
