This course is designed as an overview of computer forensics and investigation tools and techniques. Topics will include crime and incident scene processing, data acquisition, computer forensics analysis, file recovery, investigative report writing, and evidence control. In addition students will be introduced to available computer forensics hardware and software tools. The basics of operating systems, file structure, and digital processes will be covered during the basics phase of this course. Students will be required to submit to a background check. Prerequisite: CS 1103.
