3 hours credit. Prerequisite: A score at a pre-determined level in reading, writing, and math on a diagnostic instrument selected by the department. This course will enable the student to recognize and apply proper techniques at a fundamental level of shielded metal arc welding and gas metal arc welding, emphasizing welding various gauges of sheet metal. Safety practices are emphasized.
