Initially, this course focuses upon the basic principles of art as expressed through painting. Subsequently, the student selects subjects for further development of his/her competence in the implementation of those principles. There are no prerequisites, but art majors are advised to complete ART 131 before this course in order to enhance transferability as a baccalaureate art degree requirement.
