This course introduces the student to the chemical and physical principles of life, especially as they relate to humans. The major topics covered in the course include cell structure and function, the energy cycle, organismic biology, genetics, ecology, and evolution. General Biology is designed to satisfy the laboratory science requirement for the non-major as well as providing an appropriate background for those going on in the sciences.
