This course will focus on the growth and development of children, birth to age three. It examines the needs of infants and toddlers in various child care settings. It is designed to provide the student with the skills necessary to create a safe, educational, and emotionally enriching environment for infants and toddlers. Weekly participation in the campus child care is required. Prior to enrollment in any course requiring participation in the campus child care center, a student must meet all DCFS requirements, pursuant to the Illinois Child Care Act [225 ILCS 10] Reg. 923, effective 1998. An orientation of the child care center, physical exam, negative TB test, DCFS background check, and electronic fingerprinting are required prior to participation at the center. Offered: Spring Applicable toward graduation at CSC where program structure permits: Degree or Certificate - AAS, AGE, All Certificates General Education - Not Applicable
