This course is an overview of the analysis phases of the system development life cycle as it is commonly applied to computer-based business systems. Emphasis is on system documentation through the use of both classical and structured tools/techniques for describing processes, data flows, data structures, input and output designs and file and database designs. Discussion of information gathering and reporting activities and of the transition from analysis to design is also included in the course. This course should be taken by students who have completed at least two semesters of the computer core curriculum in addition to the listed prerequisites. Offered: As Needed Prerequisites: CIS 122 and CIS 128 Applicable toward graduation at CSC where program structure permits: Degree or Certificate - AAS, AGE, All Certificates General Education - Not Applicable
