This course is an introduction to the Java Programming Language with an emphasis on structured program design. The Java language is a portable, platform-independent, objectoriented language, widely used for constructing interactive Internet sites, as well as fullfledged business applications. Students will learn the basics of the Java Programming Language utilizing a hands-on computer lab. This course includes algorithm development, structured design, and files processing, including topics of control arrays, exception handling, and the use of multiple forms. Introduces database manipulation and database controls. Familiarity with C++ is strongly recommended. IAI Approved Offered: Fall and As Needed Prerequisite: CIS 215 Applicable toward graduation at CSC where program structure permits: Degree or Certificate - AAS, AGE, All Certificates General Education - Not Applicable
