This course is designed to aid the student in understanding the numerous "special needs" that are present in people in our society, ranging from cardiovascular disease to mental disorders, childhood diseases to geriatrics. Emphasis will be placed on the medically/physically compromised patients who present for dental hygiene treatment either in a clinical setting or hospital setting. Treatment planning for these compromised patients will be discussed. Offered: Fall Prerequisite: Successful completion of second summer session dental hygiene courses Applicable toward graduation at CSC where program structure permits: Degree or Certificate -AAS, AGE, All Certificates General Education - Not Applicable
